The turntable is supplied with a record mat fabricated from pure graphite, though other materials may be substituted to provide an alternative acoustic impedance to the disc in play. A record clamp is also supplied. The module, or turntable chassis, is a massive stainless steel disc into which the turntable bearing is built, and onto which the armboard is affixed. The a.c. motor drive system delivers speeds of 33.3, 45 & 78 rpm, driving the platter via a compliant belt and precision transfer bearing system.
